Keep Calm and Gain a Qualification with ELCAS Credits

Having spent some years in one of the Armed Forces you may now be in your resettlement phase, facing the challenge of getting back into ‘Civvy Street’ or have already left and are working.  You may be wondering what to do next in terms of training and development and how to gain recognition for the transferable skills you have been developing whilst in the Forces.

The Ministry of Defence has set up a funding arm called the Enhanced Learning Credits Scheme (ELCAS), which is aimed at supporting personnel leaving the forces to gain suitable qualifications recognised by employers and to encourage them to continue with their lifelong learning.  This funding pot is established for those who want to pursue vocational training at level 3 or above on the Qualification Credit Framework.

SVT are an established registered provider with ELCAS and offer a range of Vocational Qualifications in Health and Safety, Health and Social Care and Leadership and Management from level’s 3 through to level 7.  (Level 7 is comparable to a Master’s Degree).

You will need to check out if you are eligible for the funding and be prepared to contribute 20% towards the cost of the qualification you choose, which has to be approved by ELCAS. (www.enhancedlearningcredits.co.uk)

There is no time like the present to consider your future life after the forces and even if you are not planning to leave imminently it is still worth considering what your options are and to look for appropriate training to suit your chosen career path.

We have had many candidates who have taken up their vocational training with SVT Ltd. and have gone on to develop their career and achieve success in their chosen field using the ELCAS scheme.

Why not take a look at the qualifications we offer and give us a call on: 01472 240112 to discuss further.
